Subject: Review: BIG BLOW AND THE BUSHWACKERS NEW cd
A very wonderful series of sound experiences from many Different high energy folk styles. Not just played but played well! Exceptionally well done! Big Blow and the Bushwackers have been a tradition in the Baltimore Washington area for a long time now! But it just got better! New material and wondrous style. Each track is exceptional. Several are original new songs. A great commentary on our times as well as a compilation which will please any listener. Fantastic Brass, wonderful home made instruments and lots and lots of energy-the Contra Smegmaphone! The band is wonderful at live concerts but is quite live on this cd. Excellent use is made of transitions, interlude and stereo effects. At times the band is playing right over your shoulder! I am confident that several songs on this recording will go on to become Standards. You have to hear it to believe it. Those who already know the Bushwackers will know it. They will remember processing up and down the aisles and dancing around the stage. Percussion shakers for everyone and a very warm and accessible group to get to know. It is good to see new life blown into the folk tradition once again. Nothing this good since the early days of the New Saint George. Check out this CD for yourself.
