I'm surprised that with all the peace mongering going on in Mudcat, that no one wants to discuss these truly hopeful developments on the diplomatic front.

Why not? I think we may even be on the verge of Kofi Annan, on behalf of the UN, aligning itself with the NATO position of not offering any assistance to the US/British invasion of Iraq.

Regardless of how this specific (Iraq) conflict sorts itself out, what we are witnessing is (finally!) a challenge to Anglo Axis of Empire from Europe's other most powerful countries--France, Germany, and Russia, and to American/British imperialism.

In other words, the power of the US & British empires are being directly challenged in the international community. That is HUGELY significant because it has never happened before.
