Although the overreactions are ugly, and the archnegetive pseudo-seditious insinuations are far too forthcoming by guests, I *am* nervous about the apparent disregard for the constitutional freedoms that make this country great. Those plastic flags that line the highways are a poor subsitute for functional democracy... and, while it is true that capital and industry are major players in our quality of life, and technology has the potential to improve everyone's future days, we are being encouraged to head in the wrong direction. The hope I'm carrying with me says "if it changed for the worse this quickly, we can love our country's tradition of *democracy... use it or lose it* back into shape just as fast!"
