Within and Without

Fire is in the universe,
And all the bodies dance it love.
Each spark has understood, each tendril of flame,
The universe is its combustion wholly!
This is why fires sings "Wow!" all day long.

Here by the morning camp,
Coffee-smoke twines higher
The still pining branches stay polite,
But the breakfast fire laughs to the sun,
Saying "One! We are one!"

Fire sings all the day,
Knowing the instant is the answer,
Since fire Is.
Fire is
the Universe.
