Engineers


They know, they know. They know because
Confusion pains the heart and dulls seeing
Not to know is heresy and being
Outcast in their own home universe of laws,
Immeasurably sinful

Therefore they need, and find
A way to know; and undo pain.
This brings reward, this brings catastrophe.

The catastrophe is avoidable
But not the reward. This makes things
More difficult. How they need, would die to have
A better way of knowing.
