For more than twenty years, the Missouri Valley Folklife Society has been trying to bring the best in traditional music to Kansas City, especially foreign bands. It has been a real struggle. Now, in the face of media apathy, high band fees, and high rents for venues, the society faces terrible difficulties.
On Sunday, March 9th, we are putting on the Irish band Dervish at the Community Christian Church. This may be our last concert ever. Time: 7:00 PM Tickets: $20 Adult, $17.00 Adult member.
Yes, this is an odd time, Sunday at 7:00 pm. It's because Dervish kindly squeezed us in. But just think, by Sunday evening you are as rested and as ready to enjoy yourself as you are ever likely to be.
Remember, if enough people come, we can still keep doing SOMETHING.
