I used Lenscrafters several times before I stopped wearing glasses entirely (as a result of cataract surgery...not a recommended solution). The only negative experience I had was that they insisted on putting the bifocal line right in the middle of the lens...where I look out...rather than lower as I asked. They did fix it, w/o charge.

Definately ask around about discounts. JC Penny optical, for example, offers over-50 and AAA discounts, but they don't advertise them.
