Can't help with lyrics...but I have heard the expression used in the context of:

I woke up with this person, who was so ugly, that if they were sleeping on my arm...I would gnaw it off, rather than risk waking them up, and having to kiss them good-bye.

Probably a good commercial for altering two or three risky behaviors...
