Preflight

Sometimes
I wish that I could be
the hawk that sits
high up in the tree
Sometimes
I wish that I could glimpse
the world outside my town
Is it flat or
is it round
How far does it go
Will I ever know
if the Earth sits still
or is it slung
all around
and will I be flung
to the ground
or perhaps whirled free
to fly real high
so that I can see
the world outside my town
without sitting
high up in the tree
