Yep, coprophagia, I know it well! (Eating their own shit). The dog I inherited from my mum has always done it, and I'm now giving her pills to stop it. (Someone once said if you feed 'em pineapple it stops it but she likes pineapple). So far after a week on the pills, which she also likes, (it's supposed to take two weeks, if not you double the dose) I am still seeing evidence of it - she quite often comes back into the house licking her lips, and I find occasional nibbled evidence. They guy at the local Petsmart says it's a habit they develop when puppies. Same dog likes also cucumber, raw carrot, and tomatoes. Also eating the bits of charcoal that fall off the BBQ, as they probably taste meaty, and nibbling the centaury leaves in the summer.

My other dog, before she got old, used to eat the kids' wax crayons, balloons and stuff. When we first had her she nicked a quarter pound of very ripe stilton. (Most dogs seem to like cheese - is that why they like licking feet too?)
