Well, Matthew, I'd say there's reason to be careful. This sort of communication tends to bring out the good side of people and hide our foibles. This is good, because it lets us put aside our fears and prejudices and see the good that's in everyone. I think it's important to have a reality check every once in a while, though. Meeting people in person or even a phone call can give you a more realistic view of a person and lead the way to a stronger friendship.
