Thread Name: Lyr Req: Suicide Hotline Song
Subject: Lyr Req: Suicide Hotline Song
I'm looking for the lyrics to a humorous song that may be sort of a long-shot.

The gist of the song is this:

In an attempt to save money, the city of New York has combined its suicide hotline with the library system's information line. Potential suicides get recorded messages about library hours, poetry readings etc.

I heard it at a campground songswap at the Florida Folk Festival last May. It's basically a talking blues/accompanied recitation type thing. I don't know who wrote it, don't know the exact title, and don't even know the guy that was singing it. He may have written it, but I think I remember him creditting someone else. I know that Tom Lehrer did not write it, though it is in that Lehrer type of deadpan dark humor vein.

Any help would be appreciated.
