The shanty sings were alive and well when I was visiting the Bay Area last summer. We decided to plunk for the Holiday Inn at Fisherman's Wharf which is somewhat pricey but very convenient to what were we intersted in seeing. I wonder if the Marriot workers are still on strike; they were a musical wonder in themselves.
