I met the Director of Education for the Erie Maritime Museum & US Brig Niagara (PA 16507), in Toronto (my cousin has a B&B in the Beaches http://members.tripod.com/beachesbb/). It didn't take long to hear of his festival in June and he did say he was interested in hearing from shanty singers keen to perform. http://www.brigniagara.org is a bit out of date and no mention of the festival which would be a maritime affair but Mark Weber did tell me they would be visited by an Indian tall ship.
