Hmmm. I saw Don play this when he lived in Ottawa. It was funny like most of his songs but I definitely didn't think of it as something I'd be hearing about twenty-five years later. It sounded sort of like the Batman theme, or another crimefighting show...

Back in the late 70's there was an aggressively enforced anti-postering bylaw in Ottawa, which inspired this ditty. There's more I don't remember. It might even have gotten on a vinyl album.
Another info source is my buddy "Reverend Ken" Ramsden. He got charged with illegal postering in his hometown of Peterborough, took it to the Supreme Court of Canada, and won! I think the decision was that a municipality could only put reasonable restrictions on postering, not ban it altogether.
