In a well-worn Australian tradition, many of these songs (particularly those of sailors) passed over to cattle drovers (or overlanders) - who often spent as long driving herds of cattle thousands of miles to market as sailors spent on their voyages.

One come to mind with the chorus:
Pass the bottle round, boys;
Don't let the pintpot stand there.
For tonight we'll drink the health
Of every overlander.
