My experience was similar to that of "Seth from China". My parents were in the Bahamas in the early 50's, heard Blake and brought his album back.   We listened to it as kids, and although it took us a while to figure out the lyrics, we loved the recording.

There is a Blind Blake cassette available with, as I recall, most of the songs from his first recording (78) and a few from his later recordings. I don't recall the label, but can probably find the tape if anyone is interested. (I think it had all the lyrics printed in the cassette "liner". My father passed away in 2000 at age 94. He had let us all know that he wanted Blind Blake played at his funeral service. It was. Perhaps it was a first for a funeral service. He never did care much about what was conventional.
