Here in the Alleghany Highlands, the signs of spring are slowly appearing. Yesterday, 50+ red-winged blackbirds stopped by for a feed at our 'diner.' Two days ago, it was a flock of 35+ robins. Spring peepers and cardinals have begun to sing compulsively! A pair of broad-winged hawks have been doing elaborate aerobatics over the hill behind the house, and goldfinches are starting to show up at the thistle feeder. Yep, spring is coming!
