I make no claims to being an expert but it sounds to me as though both
guitars have some kind of a problem with the nut (the bit at the end of the neck where the strings pass over to the tuning pegs).It could well be that a bit of work or possibly a replacement nut just MIGHT cure the unwanted sound effects.
