I had a damn long St Pat's Day weekend - no complaints, I was happy for the work and enjoyed the shows - but I was tired by night's end.

The big event last night was at a local Pub, seating about 400. It was full. There were TVs everywhere (as is the custom with USA pubs) but this time it was a good idea - because Bush went on as I started. The TVs had the sound off, but the closed captioned text scrolling. The audience lent me a polite ear, but watched intently as the president spoke. In between songs, I asked for updates. It was the oddest St Pat's Day start I've ever had.

But, things wound down as the president finished his speech and the party rolled. Great crowd, great pub - great time!
