I enjoyed the evening, but I was getting really pissed off at being told how we should be embarrassed to be English because of all the bad things we've done in the past.
Hey, I've never invaded or subjucated, and I wouldn't have thought many musicians had either. I don't have to apologise for what anyone else has done.
Perhaps we should all stop being embarrassed and enjoy our musical heritage.

PS I must be more English than Malcolm - I am a morris dancer and I have a whole shelf of pewter tankards, I've never been able to achieve a pot-belly but I do have an arran sweater - oh, hang on - they're Scottish aren't they?
