Mudlark, That's funny. Reminds me of the time my brother needed to get an electrical hookup in the Southern Missouri Ozarks. He asked about whom to call and was told to call Hal Organ. Not seeing Hal listed in the phone book, he called information, asked for a phone number for Hal Organ and was given a number. He called the number and someone answered giving a name that was not Hal's. Puzzled and a little hesitant my brother asked if he could speak to Hal Organ. “This is Hal Organ,” the same voice replied. Still not understanding, my brother asked if he could order a rural electrical hookup and was told yes, he could, and the process was promptly completed.
He still wasn't sure what had just transpired but finally understood when the truck showed up to complete the work. There on the side of the truck was the name Howell–Oregon Electrical Cooperative. The Co-op served both Howell and Oregon Counties.
