I'm not what you call an expert guitarist, but I've become a fan of the D'Addario EXP coated strings. They were wonderful when I lived in Hilo, the rainiest town in the U.S., where standard strings lasted about 2 weeks. They feel good (I've heard that Elixirs feel "slippery"--these don't), sound great, and keep sounding good for a long time.
