I love Elixirs... I know some of the purists poo-poo them, but for me they're comfortable, minimize finger squeaks and last near-forever on my taylors.

I didn't like the Martin coated strings as well; but the d'addario coated ones were also quite nice- I kind of stick with the elixirs out of habit now.
