One reason that I render MIDI files to WAV is when I want to make up karioke-style CDs to use for Music Hall sets etc. Niether Linda or I are pianists, and if I already have a MIDI or can create one with SHARPEYE then it's quite a convenient way to do it. I can even use a variety of instruments - ie a trombone on "Boom-ta-ra-ra". I don't really want to cart a PC (even a notebook) around - (although I can play MIDIs on my PDA ...hmm). Obviously I've got to remember how many "till readys" I've got, and be careful to sing the right number of verses !

The reason that the MIDIs come out so clear with WAVmaker is that the WAV file is created digitally and does not go via an analogue stage.
