Ted and Beccy both point to an interesting observation -- the evolved mechanisms of music (intervals used, scales defined, rhythms commonly used) are not universal, and yet the net effect of music as an uplifting, calming, or energizing perception does seem to have universal distribution in homo sap. But if it isn't coming from the structure, as such, then maybe it is an effect caused by some super-frequency that all musical forms generate. Hmmmm? Jes' specyoolatin'.
