Battle over Iraqi Mobile Network Begins

With the war in Iraq barely nine days old, a Republican
congressman has begun campaigning over the country's
postwar telecommunications network.

Darrell Issa, from southern California, has introduced a bill
calling for the US government to adopt a mobile phone network
in postwar Iraq that, if introduced, would benefit the American
economy at the expense of the Gulf state's ability to
communicate with the outside world.
