Thread Name: Lyr Req: Body in the Bag (sung by D. Disley)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Body in the Bag (sung by D. Disley)
I collected Body in the Bag from a tape loaned to me by a friend when I was in hospital after a motor cycle accident in Singapore in 1970.
On the tape it was sung by a group, all male, and I knew NOTHING of them or the song until now.I have a different penultimate verse :-

I took it down the railway line and laid it on the rail
And now to do the dirty work here here comes the midnight mail
But the Flying Sctsman tore along and gave me such a whack
Knocked me off the railway line but clear of the track
And in a dirty muddy puddle I was lying on my back
Cuddling the body in the bag.

And as a matter of interest I dont think Dis Disley has Ever sung this song,At least not in the forty years I have known him .
