I usually sing Sydney Carter's lovely song "Standing in the Rain" over the Cristmas period. However, I've lost count of the number of times which people have taken offense at the line "But I hope he won't be black". The whole song is trying to expose middle class suburban (mind you I live in the surburbs) hypocrisy.

If they can't understand bloody irony, it's high time that they could !
