Thread Name: Mudcat religion
Subject: RE: Mudcat religion
I was trying to find L. Sprague De Camp's definition of a cult and couldn't so have to rely on the (overdrawn) memory banks-- when a person joins and becomes deeply involved in a religion other than the one practiced by his family of origin, he is said to have joined a CULT, but a good Catholic (for instance) who is called to become a priest is not thought to have done anything strange. Food for thought, which reminds me that I'm hungry. Yes, maybe I have joined a cult since learning of Mudcat, and one of its characteristics is that I want to convert all my friends! And we care about each other-- will never forget some of the threads concerning Catspaw 'bout a month ago and found myself singing the Stanley Bros. "who will sing for me?" Glad it was not necessary. love PETE
