The untold story is that the US dollar is worth far less than its officially pegged value worldwide, because the USA is bankrupt. It's the World's biggest debtor nation. Shhhhh! Mustn't let it get out!
Those dollars aren't worth the paper they're printed on, but by golly those high tech weapons are good at killing people, aren't they? And that's worth something...to America.
