Yes I wrote it at the request of Andy Stewart who had a TV show which featured Joe Gordon's Folk Four (1959/60?) He asked me for material and I supplied The Whisky Chorus and The Barras. MacGregor and Hall have also recorded them as have various other Scottish singers.
