Here is an opportunity to have some fun and learn some old time banjo!I will be teaching banjo at The Woods music and dance camp in Ontario Canada. I can tell you that this campis situated in a beautiful area in the Muskoka lakes region on Lake Rosseau , 2 and a half hours north of Toronto. Workshops in singing, songwriting, fiddle, dulcimer , banjo, guitar blues/slide , dance -clogging are featured. Staff include myself -Arnie Naiman - I will teach banjo, play fiddle for dances and be singing and playing music with Kathy Reid Naiman. A good deal of informal music making (jamming)will be happenning as well. Other staff include Jeff Davis -also banjo, mandolin, guitar, song, Bob Franke - songwriter and blues guitar, Jim Morrison -dance caller and fiddler, Christina Smith and Jean Hewson- Newfoundland fiddle, guitar, chello tunes and songs.

Old time Banjo -All levels welcome. I will cover basic clawhammer for the beginner, intermediate and more advanced clawhammer, fiddle tunes on banjo and banjo songs, various banjo tunings, chording. Also talk about banjo instruments and setups. The good news is that the U.S. dollar is worth about 50% more than the Canadian dollar! This makes for a very good deal for Americans to take their vacations up here in Canada. This will be a good time- trust me! Dates are from August 17-22, 1999 check their web site at http://www.mgl.com/~jhcole/thewoods/ or call 416-461-1864
