I guess the Amos Parchment-and-Quill Principle :) is one good answer to my ideological-imbalance question. I dunno, though; the modern-day conservatives (so called, or miscalled) do Protest an awful lot, and not always with the greatest of erudition either. And they are by no means confined to society's Upper Crust.
