As much as the manufacturers would love for us to ditch the old tvs and buy the new high-end flat-screen high-definition models, I'm not a slave to high-tech stuff so that I'd cough up that kind of money. Or want to let such a device be the focus of the room. The old sets do us fine; we watch television in smallish rooms, we're not far from the set, the sound is good, and it works for us.

But Brett, is any of this stuff gonna go with you to Guam? Does everyone have high-end satellite there, and sit around with tons of technology, or are they all out walking on the beach and swatting snakes?
