Just raising a question--is there a purpose for 'learning' a song such as playing with a group? If not, I'd suggest that he/she just start playing and tabbing down their own things, or do they want 'native' tunes? R.Carlos writes his own stuff. He also has a book out of his music. He briefly goes into tab, but he's VERY big on learning music the traditional (see the note, know the note, play the note) way.

My suggestion, write original things. Native flute is hard to learn by ear. Each flute is different, sooooooo might as well write your own.
