Awe Charlie - The Count IS still with us.
British Poet:
Christopher Logue, now respected for his prolific studies of Homer's Iliad, ( War Music) under the alias Count Palmiro Vicarion primed the pump of the 1953 renamed "Olympia Press" by providing erotica that was to drive the engine of the firm's publishing activities. Olympia eventually published "The Ginger Man," "Lolita," "Naked Lunch," "Candy" and "The Story of O," all cornerstone works of Western erotica in the 60's-70s. "Count Palmiro Vicarion" and other psuedonymed purveyors of smut cranked out material that helped pay the fledgling publisher's bills. Most people reading A Collection of Children's Rhymes Christopher Logue (Editor), or The Children's Book of Comic Verses would be shocked to find his connection to such a nefarious past.
COME TO THE EDGE by Christopher Logue
Come to the edge.
We might fall.
Come to the edge.
It's too high!
Come to the edge.
And they came,
and we pushed,
And they flew.
