Sinead O'Connor says she is giving up the music biz. Never quite figured her out, but I can remember fondly her explosive arrival, extraordinary charisma, and sheer talent (not to mention that voice). She seems to have made all sorts of bad career choices (her album of standards is to wince at), imploded many times, and clearly offended all kinds of people. But no one can say that she isn't one of a kind (though you might not like the kind). Her first two albums can't help but be seen as classics -- I lost touch with the later stuff.
