That last posting is very close to the one sung here in Kent by, amongst others Paul Carr who I think learned it as a music hall song. The verse I almost remember went "Oh my name it is Sam Hall , it is Sam Hall/ Oh my name it is Sam Hall it is Sam Hall/ Oh my name it is Sam Hall/ And I hate you one and all/(forgotten this line)/ God damn your eyes."
