There were actually only four bidders. Possibly the friends who verified the authenticity.   The banjo looks pretty good for having been dug out of rubble. Also it has no resonator. I would have thought Saddam would have liked a lot of shiny metal, maybe even gold and would have kept such a prized instrument in a heavy duty case. Oh well, maybe someone will find his accordion.
