I have written and am sending my own snail mail to several principles in the Nigerian government. For any activists who note these things, when receivers of communication are considering various issues, an e-mail has less value than a phone call, has less value than a snail letter, has less value than a personal visit. This has to do with how much time and expense it takes someone to share their sentiments, and how much it is perceived that their energy represents in terms of those who did not record their sentiments. Hence, e-mail *does* have value, and is a worthy gesture. But if you have a little time and the energy, a snail means more. Just letting the group know.
