Use NOTHING BUT sugar and water. Anything else like honey will cause mold to grow on the birds tongue. The ratio of the mix of water and sugar isn't that important but 1 cup sugar to 3 cups water works well. Don't let the sugar water spoil as this will also cause mold to grow on the birds on the birds tongue and get the bird drunk.
