Yaz, come and hear the best kept secret out of North Carolina. Hear a young man, who's only been playing for four years, play the real thing at the Windy City Grill, Como, Mississippi on 05.24.03. You will go home and burn all the guitars you have been fooling with for the last thirty years. Pinetop Perkins calls him "the Little Bluesman", he's played alongside Robert Balfour, R.L. Burnside, T-Model Ford and they all say he's the real deal. I said that the first time I heard him in Memphis last year but of course nobody believes nothin I say ;~)
Better get there early az they tell me it'll only hold 150 folks and the whole town of Como ends up in there when Daniel comes to town.
By the way, if Como sounds familiar, it's the homebase for legends like the late Othar Turner and Fred MacDowell. Hope to hear some fife and drum music out there also, but I understand Mr.Othar's family is doing a gig in New York City that weekend. I believe this will be a memorable event if I don't get into any corn likker.
