KING SUSPECTED IN COOKIE THEFTS!!

Mudcat News Service's crack team of investigative reporters have uncovered the culprit behind the recent rash of Mudcat cookie disappearances! King khandu of Mississippi has been accused of stealing other Mudcatters' cookies in a feeble attempt to retain control of the fabled kingdom which is rapidly slipping out of his grasp. Sources claim that khandu has hidden the cookies away in a secret vault in an undisclosed location and is planning to offer them back to their owners in exchange for promises of support in his attempt to keep his throne. Exactly how khandu is planning to offer the return of the missing cookies is a bit of a mystery since the now-cookieless victims are unable to receive private messages. This little complication was apparently overlooked by King khandu when he hatched this ill-advised scheme. To quote one of MNS's anonymous sources, "That khandu! What a idjit! Har, har, har!"

Meanwhile, in a related story, the first of an expected multitude of contenders to the throne of Mississippi has declared his candidacy for King. Mr. Slimuel J. (Slim) Piggins, a Vietnamese potbellied pig from Allentown, Florida has filed the necessary papers and will begin campaigning after the Memorial Day holiday. When asked about his candidacy, Mr. Piggins remarked, "Oink, grunt, snorf, wee!", which translates as, "Hey, Bub! Ya gotta apple in yer pocket?"
