I had the good fortune to take a workshop with Freyda during Vocal and Old Time Week at Elkins, West Virgnia a few years back. She was a wonderful teacher, open and encouraging, as well as a marvelous musician and an extraordinary singer. I didn't get to know her very well, but I found her one of the most fascinating people I've ever been around. RIP. You will be missed very badly.
