Janice mentions the GI coffee house near Fort Dix. I remember there were several near Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and I know there were many other ones all around the United States in the 1970's. They were a pleasant alternative to the off-base bars and strip joints. Does anyone know what became of them? Are there any still in existence?
