Kelli,
Another helpful way to see the music and hear it is to use music notation software. I use Noteworthy, which has a free demo programme, but is also very cheap to buy. It is very basic, but also easy to use. I bought it to support the people who developed it and I am happy with it. (No connection to the company, just a happy customer.)
Then you can open up the Midi file and click play and the notes on the music staff light up as they are played. You can also transpose the music to the key you want, and slow it down while you play it. You can also print the music out, even with the demo version.
I can highly recommend both Barry Taylor's Tunebook which Mary in Kentucky provided a link to, and the Contemplator site generally, especially the tunes by Turlough O'Carolan. Just prepare to be addicted to that whole site. I have been addicted to it ever since I found it a few years ago. Barry Taylor's arrangements are the most beautiful arrangements I have heard on the web.
