I gave up on commercial radio over 30 years ago. As far as I'm concerned, it's a wasteland. I listen to tapes and CD's which I choose, and which do NOT have either commercials or DJ's on them, getting in the way of the music.
I gave up on TV for similar reasons. 600+ channels, and nothing on. It's a garbage-in/garbage-out culture, and I simply ignore it.
