Folk 1234 - yupppers - wellll I did sit round the main stage area with stuff for sale - nobody wants an ole banjar or guitar ceptin some song writers who I aggreed to lend stuff - they said the guitar had a song or two in it. This Gibson looks like a Woody guitar, but we don't know how old it is. Real nasal and warm sounding if played softly.Folk1234 My email addy is qtech@ionet.net please email me so we can arrange everything.
After I got done at Okemah -bout 3pm I was going back north and seen a sign for Shamrock Oklahoma. Thought what the heck, its on the way. I found this little town - it's kinda hidden - It is painted green, everthing is green!! There was a little bar and as it was Sunday I figured, South Bible Belt no way. I was wrong wrong wrong. Not only was the lil bar ahoppin but them folks had me to play a few tunes on me sqeeze box - they did not understand what I was playin but the band guys did 'On the Baiou' - really slowly so the crowd could hear the box.
The band played Blues and Country- I like both - I got a few beers - can't be in a Irish bar an not do that -PS I quit drinkin years ago. What made this so interesting for me was knowing these folk are two mbee three generations out form the old country, still keepin up the Irish ways. AMAZED -
After we all visited and laughed at stupid stuff - like shamrocks are the only alien plant on planet earth - leprechauns being aliens- the Irish are really from some far off planet :) errrr hmmmmm There was food flyin around---- yuppers Bacon an salad :) The bar man, Kevin, put a big plate of food in front of me - saying 'musicians perks.....'
Wished I got more time with the lil band - bass player from Huston Tx could play anything - mighty blues singer ! I have to go back there as much as possible.
