Years ago I had a "Ziggy" cartoon poster that hung in my bathroom. It depicted him sitting on the toilet, looking at an empty paper roll. The caption read, "Did you ever have one of those lives....?" It fairly well summed up my point of view during that era of my life.

Some time later I found a "B.C." comic strip showing a Dodo bird diving off a cliff and flapping its disproportional wings. The caption read, "So far, so good!" That seemed to cover my sensibilities of the time.

I haven't found a cartoon that parallels my current state of mind, but a favorite is also a "B.C." strip in which a bearded character accidentally gets too close to a torch, his hair catching fire. In the final frame he is shown peering at his reflection in a pool of water and he says, "I've invented shaving!"
